Egg Donation

The Center for Assisted Reproduction offers women who are unable to conceive using their own eggs the opportunity to become pregnant using donor eggs. This can be an excellent option for women who want to have children, but who do not ovulate or have problems ovulating. Candidates to receive donor eggs include women who have undergone premature menopause or cancer therapy and older women.

The Center for Assisted Reproduction actively recruits and screens potential egg donors. By having a large donor population available to us, we are often able to eliminate much of the cost that may be involved in using a separate "outside" donor agency. This cost advantage is a relief for recipient couples who are concerned about the expense of treatment, yet still desire to choose from several different egg donor profiles.

We understand that many people want to know something about the woman whose egg they are using to begin their family. We also understand the need for donor privacy. Though egg donors' identities remain anonymous to recipient couples, in our program, patients have access to detailed medical histories, psychological screening results, family histories, educational backgrounds, and key interests or talents of the egg donors. This system allows for both donor and recipient to feel comfortable and respected.
