Get to know the doctors of CARE Fertility

If you’ve been a patient at CARE Fertility, you know the expertise our doctors bring to each appointment. 

But what about their lives outside of the clinic? We sat down with all four doctors and discussed what they like to do when they’re not taking care of their patients. Some of their answers might surprise you!

Dr. Kathy Doody

When it comes to life outside of the office, our own Dr. Kathy loves beginning her day with a good workout.

“I love running and Orangetheory. That's how I start my day at least five or six days a week, and exercise has always been a long, important part of my life,” she says.

Besides the gym, Dr. Kathy loves needlepoint, scrapbooking, quilting and photography. But most of all, she loves to travel.

“I love to travel because that’s how my life started out. My dad was in the military and we were always moving. I was born in Seattle and from there we went to Cleveland, Ohio, Saint Agnes, Michigan, Surgeon Bay, Wisconsin, Galveston, Guam, Boston and Houston,” she remembers.

And despite her fear of heights, Dr. Kathy admits that she also now loves roller coasters. We love her sense of adventure!

Dr. Kevin Doody

Dr. Kevin has always had a love for numbers and math, but knew that he wanted a career that would allow him to interact with people. 

“I like meeting new patients and hearing their stories. I like being able to help them achieve their goals. And I really can't imagine myself in any other role than what I do currently,” he says.

Dr. Kevin notes that his profession is incredibly rewarding, and he knew from a young age that the medical field was in his future.

“I think I was about 12 when I made the decision to be a doctor. I liked science a lot but I liked people and I think that's what really got me off into the medical world. It's an opportunity to use science and to interact with people on a daily basis,” he comments.

We have to agree with Dr. Kevin - there’s no doubt he’s in the right place!

Dr. Anna Nackley

Like Dr. Kathy, Dr. Nackley has always incorporated exercise into her daily routine.

“I'm a long-distance runner, mostly because I like to eat, so running is definitely a passion for me. On the weekends, if I'm not hanging out with my family or working, I enjoy running marathons and long-distance running with friends,” she says.

And as far as her path to fertility care goes, Dr. Nackley remembers always being interested in medicine.

“My father was actually a physician. He was one of the first radiation oncologists in Fort Worth and encouraged me to go into medicine,” she states. “My very first job at the age of 15 was at Baylor All Saints working in medical records and one of my first assignments was going to labor and delivery and getting the birth certificates for all of the women after they had had their babies.”

One of Dr. Nackley’s passion is helping women and young girls that have been diagnosed with cancer preserve their fertility before they get exposed to radiation or chemo. Things have come full circle for her here at CARE Fertility!

Dr. Robin Thomas

Similar to Dr. Kathy, Dr. Thomas is also a big fan of travel.

“I love to travel, really anywhere. That's probably one of my favorite things to do,” she says. “I also love spending time with my family. They're number one in my life, and I always make time for them.”

When she’s not spending time with her family, Dr. Thomas also likes scrapbooking.

“I like anything arts and crafts, when I have time to do it,” she details. “I love decorating, whether it's decorating for a party or decorating a spot in my house, and planning things, too, like parties. That's kind of my zen. I have fun doing that.”

Dr. Thomas certainly keeps busy, but she’s a creative at heart!
